Accessibility

First Steps Childrens Day Nursery are commited to making this web site as accessible as possible to all visitors (including those with visual, hearing, cognitive or motor impairments) to meet requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) as well as the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative.

Accessibility refers to the attempt to ensure that content on our site can be read by everyone, regardless of disability and technology used.

First Steps Childrens Day Nursery acknowledge that accessibility must be considered as a fundamental consideration at every stage of site development work, not an "optional extra". As a result we try to ensure that our content works consistently with its assistive technologies to ensure an accessible experience for all disabled users.

Often people are restricted when browsing a web site as they have not been accounted for in the design. First Steps Childrens Day Nursery have tried to provide a high level of accessibility and developments in this regard are continuously ongoing.

Currently, we ensure compliance with World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. We are also striving to meet level 3 compliance, where possible, under these guidelines.

Below are examples of ways the site is made more accessible to people:

This is a representative sample of guidelines that we aim to adhere to. Please contact us if you have any accessibility concerns.
